A Nokia Fan Boy’s Dream

This post had been in my drafts from the last two weeks, to be precise from the 18th of February, but when i came across a beautifully worded article from Dotsisx of The Symbian Guru and decided to publish it

Seeing what Nokia had to offer in terms of new handsets at the MWC i might say that i have to say i am a bit disaapointed.

Its really sad for a Nokia fan like me to see Samsung and Sony Ericsson leading the race from Nokia in terms of Hardware and Technology.

It seems long ago that Nokia had a market leader phone that was by far the most advanced phone in the market, read the N95 in its good old days.

Today in terms of whats announced and whats available in the market Nokia is no more a leader on the cutting edge technology front.

  • The first 8 Megapixel phone was from Samsung and that to Symbian.
  • The first HD Video recording phone has been announced Samsung the Omnia HD and that to Symbian S60 V5 OS.
  • The recently announced 12.1 Megapixel Concept Idou from Sony Ericsson will also run Symbian OS.

Yes Nokia has announced the N86 with a 8 Megapixel Camera with the best camera optics till date(if you somehow can ignore the absence of optical zoom) but it seems a bit late.

C’mmon Nokia rise up and make a Smart Phone that shall be a Market Leader in Technology like the N95.

Gimme a phone that has

  1. A 3.8″ AMOLED Touchscreen with localised haptic feedback, 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1280×720.
  2. A 12Mega pixel + camera with Optical Zoom(5x) and an argon flash and variable aperture.
  3. Video Recording of 1080p at 30fps.
  4. A Music Player with the abilty to install New Codecs and Dolly Surround Sound Output and 20 band graphic equaliser with 5.1 channel output.
  5. A Core player type Video Player
  6. A 2000mAh battery with a talk time of 10+ hours.
  7. A radio chip that supports all GSM, 3G, 3.5G  and LTE standards.
  8. Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, Bluetooth, and all the now mandatory stuff
  9. A 80GB mass memory and ability to expand it even more
  10. Ability to read USB drives
  11. A Symbian OS, probably S60V5 Feature pack 2
  12. A 1.5Ghz Dual Core processor or a 1GHz quad core processor and 2GB on RAM for all the multitasking one needs to do
  13. A desktop alike(exactly same) web browser
  14. All the latest and up to date software pre installed.

Some of you might think that i am being too greedy,  but then some of  would say that i have missed certain things. What ever you feel do comment

Hey Rishminder -do you know if T9 Nav smart search works on the E75? It is now available for S60 v.3+ devices: http://t9nav.wordpress.com/.
Although T9 is available in many vernacular languages, at this point T9 Nav is in English.
